About Olivio Cafe
Olivio Cafe is a specialty cafe concept focused on quality food, consistency, and a relaxed community atmosphere. Our food menu includes cafe-style dishes, brunch items, egg-based dishes, sandwiches, baked goods, cakes, cookies, and seasonal specials.
We are looking for a hands-on chef who can strengthen the food side of the business, maintain consistent quality, and help develop menu items that match the Olivio brand.
Role Summary
The Chef / Kitchen Lead will be responsible for preparing, improving, and maintaining Olivio’s food menu. The role requires strong cooking skills, recipe development, kitchen organization, food quality control, and daily operational support.
The ideal candidate should be creative but practical, able to work in a small cafe kitchen environment, and experienced in producing consistent, high-quality food with good presentation and controlled cost.
Key Responsibilities
Menu Preparation & Development
Prepare and execute Olivio food menu items consistently.
Improve existing dishes in terms of taste, presentation, preparation time, and cost.
Develop new seasonal or limited-time food items that fit the Olivio concept.
Standardize recipes, portion sizes, plating, and preparation methods.
Support menu testing and tasting before launching new items.
Kitchen Operations
Manage daily kitchen preparation and service.
Ensure all ingredients are prepared before service.
Maintain food quality, freshness, taste, and presentation.
Control food waste and support efficient ingredient usage.
Monitor stock levels and communicate purchasing needs.
Ensure proper storage, labeling, and rotation of ingredients.
Food Safety & Cleanliness
Follow UAE food safety and hygiene requirements.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment.
Ensure proper food handling, storage, and temperature control.
Support municipality inspection readiness.
Train kitchen assistants on hygiene and preparation standards where needed.
Cost & Consistency Control
Help calculate food cost for menu items.
Maintain consistent portioning.
Reduce unnecessary waste.
Recommend improvements to reduce cost without lowering quality.
Support supplier and ingredient quality checks.
Team Support
Work closely with the service team and management.
Support cafe operations during busy periods.
Train junior kitchen staff or assistants if required.
Communicate clearly regarding menu availability, preparation needs, and daily specials.
Required Experience
Previous experience as a Chef, Cafe Chef, Commis Chef, Demi Chef, or Kitchen Lead.
Experience in cafe-style food, breakfast/brunch, sandwiches, baked goods, or casual dining.
Ability to prepare high-quality food in a compact kitchen setup.
Good understanding of food safety and hygiene.
Ability to follow recipes and develop new ones.
Experience with menu costing is preferred.
UAE cafe or restaurant experience is an advantage.
Required Skills

Compact cafe kitchen operations
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for someone who can take ownership of Olivio’s food menu, improve consistency, reduce waste, and help create memorable food items. The chef should understand that Olivio is a cafe concept, not a fine-dining restaurant, but the food still needs to feel thoughtful, well-made, and high quality.
